Hi everybody, I'm new to this website I found it lookin up herion withdrawls, imagine that ha. Well about me I'm 20 years old and I've been addicted to herion for 2 and and half years now while smoking it for the first year and shooting it the last year and a half. It has been a rough slow downhill disaster for me and it has came time to where I just need to be done for good. I've had about 16 speeding tickets while I've been using, a glovebox full of in paid traffic tickets, about 8 collection agencies calling me tryin to get money I owe, I've gained 3 new criminal charges against me, stolen from my parents and friends more times than I can count now, destroyed my arms from the needles, been in and out of detox/rehab several times, could of been on a big name reality show but got in trouble for herion and got sent home, etc. etc. I just need to be done, I have ruined a lot of my life already and don't wanna keep going down this road. I know the detox is going to be horrible I'm only 5.5 hours in but I really wanna make it count this time. Is there any advice that anyone can give me to help me through the rough next month or so... Should I use methadone an gradually take myself off that so I don't get hooked on it too. I have access to some and I have to keep going to work through all of this so I know it will help. I strongly suggest you go see a dr, or even the ER. Going cold turkey off heroin is dangerous. You need some IRL support and advice from professionals.

I know you'll find a lot of support here - when I finally quit drinking, it was so awesome to talk to people who knew what I was going through.

Do check out the link Dee put up - a lot of people have been where you're at and gotten free from it. It's always scary, but like you said, it's a lot scarier thinking about what will happen if we don't stop.

Would be a good time to ask a doctor on how to stop using and help with the withdrawals which is be between 48 to 72 hours. We can't tell you what to take to help you because we don't know all your background history and we are not MD. But I did found this on treatment with Heroin that you can ask your doctor about.

Hello everyone, thank you so much for your guys support. I have re read each post like 10 times. It really means a lot for you guys to take the time to say something... Im about 17 hours in right now and let me tell you what I feel like CRAP ; ( but I got out of bed, took a shower, got dressed, and made it to work on time. I wanted to call in so bad but now that I'm up and moving I feel a lot better. I took about 4-5 mL of methadone when I woke up and started kicking in after my shower. I know it's going to get a lot worse but I'm going to keep fighting! Please wb everyone, I need more support. Thanks again everyone...

they can give you something differant then Methadone

What's wrong with taking methadone? As long as u lean yourself off of it there shouldn't really be any problems right? Seems like this is the only thing that is helping me...

I have no experience with heroin withdrawal and methadone, but I have known people who have used it. I think of it as giving an alcoholic lower alcohol volume beer.. It's kinda like a crutch and can lead to further problems. A lot of people feel like methadone is ok because they use it instead of their doc and end up addicted fast. Maybe try quitting without any drugs? By the way kinda off topic but I recommend reading the book "dream seller" it's a biography about Brandon Novak and his heroin addiction and recovery, had me glued! Anyways becoming sober isn't impossible, you can do this if you want it! I wish you the best, keep posting!
