More cash!!!

I reckon I was spending about £50 a week on booze, inc going out and drinking at home, so roughly if I pack in for good i'll save around £2500 a year!!!I didn't have the cash to spare in the first place, but it is a little bit of an incentive for me to keep off it
How much is anyone else saving by not drinking?

For me it wasn't just the cost for the booze itself (which I reckon $150 week average), but paying for the financial consequences of drinking which hit the wallet more..like paying for new phones to replace lost ones, eating junk food before and after eating to satisfy cravings, taxi fares from random places..I think you get the idea..

Its nice to be past all of that!

The good news is you are better off
The bad news is you spend the extra cash
The better news is you spend it on things that benefit you and those around you

I was spending £70-100 a week. I then went through an addictive phase of buying socks (?) I still have about 200 pairs not yet worn! Luckily, I have gone cold turkey on that! Im trying to stock-pile any spare cash I have now, although I did notice a rather nice handbag in the shops today.... mwah ha ha ha

$500 USD per week. Alcohol only. Seriously. And that did not count my other addiction, gambling (on American football).

Same here Newatthis, roughly 120-130 Euro per week. Absolutely horrendous.
Spending that on booze and paying off a huge mortgage does not work.
I want to stop for good to get rid of the debt.
Hopefully this time around!

You might want to get rid of those....It might not be a good idea having them around the house. I couldn't even count the money I spent on alcohol....Saving my life is all that counts for me.

There are some lottery prizes that sell you on the fact that you could win $500/week for life. WOW...that's up there. $25K after tax, more like $36K before tax (in the US anyway). WOW>>>>>>>>

Me, I spent my peace of mind, my relationships, my political capital, the time with my family.....and several thousand dollars annually (probably about $10K)

About $100.00 a week just on alcohol for me. Not to mention all the delivery junk food because I'd be too drunk to leave the house.

About 50-100 quid a week for me, then when count in missed days from work and been less productive (self employed) I'd say I'm 200 -300 per week better off, madness I know don't know how I kept goin for so long.

Over the past 8 months I have probably saved over £2,000 ($3,200) through not taking cocaine and binge drinking.

I am starting to save a nice sum of money - now, what to spend it on...........

Alcohol and its supporting habits (cab rides) was literaly my primary expenditure. After that food came in a distant second and tabacco third. I can guestimate that I spent about 18$ a day on my daily 18 pack of beer, and that is not including weekend trips to overly priced bars via taxi or the occaisional bottle of wine, liquor, or fancy beer. So a rough guess of around $200-250 a week. I can't wait to be putting all of that dough towards my eventual house, thats potentialy a grand a month. Man when I think about it like that, how much would I have saved right now if I hadn't been blasted the last 5 years?

I can't remember - but I know it took me about a year to pay off all my debts and be solvent again.

I'm still not well off by any means but life is definitely more comfortable now
