500 days!
Hey all,
I guess I am tooting my own horn by saying today is day 500 for me....but I also wanted to say thank you to you all for your help in getting me here. I also want everyone that is new and wanders on here to know that you can do it too...and I want to hear about your day 500 when you get there (one day at a time of course....) We are doing this together.....

Well...let's see. First and foremost - I am a better father. That's a huge one. Even though now I may not physically spend as much time with my kids due to divorce, I actually get to spend more time with my kids - if you get what I mean....I wasn't really there when they were little..Now I am here for them. And that is huge for me. I have also lost 40 pounds and am way healthier...I see pictures from a couple of years ago, and can't believe that was me....I feel better in so many ways - not only physically, but mentally..Counseling and reading tons of books have helped with that. I have a clearer head to deal with a ton of things that I was avoiding by drinking. Still have a long way to go, but I am learning to give myself credit for how far I've come....And that is something that we should all do....whether on day 500, or day 5....we are here, and we are working as hard as we can to get better....
