So glad I dont have to drink today
Good morning all,
I just wanted to say what a wonderful thing not having to drink is. I just woke after only a little over an hour of sleep. This is due to a tooth infection I have. It was the most intense pain I believe I ever felt. Saturday and Sunday by Sunday evening I went to the ER. Well the infection was bad so they actually checked me in till Monday evening because of a fever and pain.
But in all my new training and my fellowship I have found release and strength. After finding these things my reason for drinking have been taken away from me.No longer could I justify picking up , I no longer fought against it. This time last year there would not been enough booze to dull that pain I have been in . And now I am home taking antibiotics and percocet which I never would of taken without saying to myself I got to have drinks with this.
Because never in my life did I take a narcotic without drinking except in the hospital of course.
So I just want to express to you people that are new that sure of course at first we are so up and down and sorry we cant drink. But just work a good program and stick with it, and one day I hope you wake like me (with out the tooth pain) to realize you dont have to drink either today. Life's curve balls are so much better handled with a good bat.Mine is my HP,AA and of course you all here at SR. :ghug3
Smile cause sobriety looks good on YOU, and please smile for me cause I cant yet. But will, now I need to find a dentist or oral surgeon that can do this for me. I dont have insurance and very little money. But I pray in the morning and night so what is supposed to happen indeed will.
Good love, Inda

Good for you! I have been thinking the same thing today, only 2 days in but to wake up not feeling sickly and tired and be able to smile as I drop my daughter off at school is a wonderful feeling. Hope you feel better soon, I'm inspired by your handling of the pain and trauma without a drink.
