24th day compliment
24th day compliment
Today the home health aide who comes over 3x/week for a few hours to lend a hand with my younger daughter told me that I seem like a whole different person than when she started here, I think in late February but I'd have to look it up.
When she started with us, I was in the tail end of my last binge and always sipping on a beer or vodka and grape juice, which I'd re-up when she was upstairs. Wearing a robe. Sitting on the couch with a blanket on my lap, watching movie after movie on my laptop. Saying I was sick, that I had that bug that was going around. Then the detox period when I really was sick. She was very kind throughout.
It wasn't until a few weeks ago that she even saw me dressed. Then each time it would be something new. The kitchen cleaned up, the mail organized, a big pile of clean laundry. Me running errands, or going to a meeting. She would always comment and say "It's good! You getting better!" (she's from China and cool as hell)
Her saying that today gave me a really good feeling.

That's so great, and I can totaly relate. Always had the excuse I was sick. Hiding in the house for fear of going out ect...
Thanks for the uplifting post and keep it up, it only gets better!
Best to you.
