Welcome, advice...

So glad you decided to quit; toward the end of my drinking, I definately felt that the drinking was doing absolutely nothing for me but making some precarious situations even worse. I could see how bad it had become, but I couldn't see how to get out of it.

You'll hear how others have stopped the insanity on these boards. Good to meet you, and all my best.....

It's a good decision any time...What's your drinking history like?

Welcome Advice. This a great place to spend a lot of time and get a lot of support. Take it one day at a time. Have you thought about face to face support as well?

You aren't alone anymore!

Hi advice, Even getting here is a great step. SR is a great place to get encouragement to stick to your path. For me, when I first stopped and wanted to drink distractions were key. Talking to folks on SR, watching a movie, reading a book..
