Bailing out early? I wouldn't hang my hat on his recovery...keep working on you...to me...meetings are the answer... for you.

Thank you its his third time bailing out early. I will continue working on me not answer his calls etc. I am no longer co-dependent what a shock that will be!

Yup, the addict can't be an addict on his own, so if you step out of it, see how far he gets.

He may stay sober forever. Might be best for both of you if you just go no contact and find yourself.

It's not timed. It has nothing to do with time per se. It has everything to do with them wanting to quit, them finishing rehab, and then working a program of their choice every day for the rest of your lives.

By leaving early your alcoholic has demonstrated they aren't ready. He will likely relapse very quickly.

I'd like to be wrong about this. I don't think I am.

I have decided to go no contact and I am working on me. I have the support of great friends, reading and meetings. I know his game and will not fall for it again. He was made to go to rehab from his employer. to bad when sober a wonderful guy.
