I applied for a job yesterday...
My employment specialist from PILR called me yesterday about a part-time job in the medical field, so I jumped on it. I had to submit my resume online via a job agency, so I updated it and sent it.
Personally I am going to leave the results up to God, just as I did when I applied for the job at Wesley Medical Center.
I'm sure the job is at the hospital here after I read over the benefits (the specific place of employment is not listed in the job title/description, only that it is in the small town that I live in).
The lab at the hospital is expanding to provide more services, so it would make sense they need more help.
As for the situation with AD living with me, we have settled into a fairly pleasant routine around here.
She is making progress in her goals, including applying for help from Vo-Rehab. She will also receive counseling at a drug/alcohol center once a week for a couple of months, and then they will go to every other week.
She attends AA meetings with me, and continues to do her share of work around the house.
I have had my days when I have gotten lazy on boundaries, and after a couple of days of increasing frustration on my part, I recognize what I've done, and get back to the business of being consistent.
I continue to attend Alanon on a regular basis. Last Friday I was the only one to show up, so I did some reading, and then decided to do a little service work by cleaning things up (we share the same coffee pots with AA) like the tupperware bin the coffee pots are in, wiping off coffee stains on tables, etc.
I went ahead and made two pots of coffee for AA as that meeting is 30 minutes after Alanon is over. I stayed for the AA meeting also since that is part of my recovery. We are getting some more women in AA, which just tickles me pink.
I am grateful for the progress I have made in my own recovery because it is surely 100% different right now than 8 years ago when I allowed AD into my home and the insanity erupted all around me.
I still don't trust her completely, and doubt I ever will. I firmly believe that is a wise decision.
I also don't regret giving her one last chance either.
I feel good where I am at today.

I am glad that you are comfortable with your decision with AD. I know how hard it is to maintain boundaries, but it sounds like you have made the decisions necessary for your own peace. Good for you.

Yep yhou are 'handling' this current situation with dignity. Keep that up and in your 'time' book 'beginning of May' will be here before you know it.

I have my fingers crossed for you also, and throwing in a prayer. Just remember that life takes us to where we are supposed to go, and if it's this job for you, then it shall be. If it is not, there is another job just waiting for you to show up. But it's out there, so follow your dream and you will find it. And whoever hires you will be the luckiest employers in the world.
