March 27 in The Little Blue Book ONE DAY at a TIME in AL-ANON

March 27 in The Little Blue Book ONE DAY at a TIME in AL-ANON:

At times, I go to Al-Anon meetings in a captious, critical mood that I am not even aware of. By an odd coincidence, everybody happens to irritate me. This one talks too much; that one hasn’t enough tolerance for others; another has said or done something I consider unkind. Could it be that MY attitude is at fault? Let me go back to the Al-Anon fundamentals. What am I looking for? Help and enlightenment! Will I find it if I am only looking for flaws in others? I must remember that I am here for the sole purpose of improving myself and my way of life and in every meeting there is some good to be gained, no matter what is said or done.

TODAY’S REMINDER

I will guard against looking for flaws in others. I will try to see what is good in them. I go to Al-Anon to learn, and every meeting is precious.

“I have learned silence from the talkative; tolerance from the intolerant, and kindness from the unkind. I should not be ungrateful to these teachers.” – Kahlil Gibran: SAND and FOAM
