hello , im currently in the process of stopping drinking and would like some advice on how long i will feel sick , im only on day two and i cant get out of bed , im self employed and the only breadwinner , i can afford about another 2 weeks before i cant pay bills and things , ive tried to quit a few times but cant get past the 3rd day , i felt like death so i drank , if i can stay clean beyond that when will i start to feel better , im very worried as this is my last chance .

Good luck. See your GP they should be able to help especially if it's getting really bad.
Week one was the worst week two had some bizarre moments but for me generally better.
Have you support at home ?
Stick in there it's got to be better in the long run.

I recommend that you talk to your dr. Detoxing from alcohol can be dangerous.

Good for you for making the decision to live a sober life.

it shouldn't take longer than a few days if you're doing it 'right'. How much were you drinking? Is rehab or at least a medical detox an option?

I agree with the others Hope - if you're concerned, please see a GP - it's the responsible thing to do.

Definatly be careful I have wound up in the ICU and ER from detoxing.

Everyone is different but each time I went to detox they always released me after 5 days. I would still be sick but the dangerous part is past by then.
