Question about husband quitting
A little history, my husband has drank 2-3 "tall" bourbons everyday for 20+ yrs. I consider him an alcoholic, tho he stops after 2 or 3, eats dinner, it doesn't change his personality, yet it's an everyday thing.
My question is this, he quit drinking 5 days ago b/c I quit 8 wks ago.
He is having headaches, nausea, fatigue, feeling flush, etc.
I guess he's having withdrawal?
I guess I was naive to think b/c he didn't drink excessively, it wouldn't be that bad.
Anyone else know anyone like him who drank semi- normally & quit?
Did they have withdrawals?

Talk to a doctor.
Regular consumption of alcohol can make the body dependent. Everyone is different.
Many individual variables play a part, but it can take up to 14 days, sometimes even longer, again, it depends on the individual.
Please see a doctor. What I read, he's in the midst of alcohol detox, but I am not a doctor.
Prayers sent to you both,

He's been having these same symptoms each evening but were worse today. I'm sure he's had cravings, I haven't asked really. I'm sure so. But he quit for over a month last year when he was trying to get me to quit. He seemed ok then.
Maybe it's just a virus. Time will tell.
