I am losing my battle

I have been fighting my Addiction to alchoale for years I started drinking when I was 13. I am 25 now turning 26 in a few months. I have been in and out of the hospital when I was a child in and out of jail.

and now my family is suffering, my lovely wife I don't deserve this woman. I quit for about 2 years and I have deffinatly jumped heavily back into it.

I am afraid I am going to harm someone I love dearly.

I cant stop

I don't know what to do. today is the first day sober in about 2 months.

I started doing a personal inventory I never made it that far I just dont want to waste my time if it doesn't work.

I am ruining not only my life but every one that I love.

Hi Pbody, welcome to SR!

Everyone here has been in your shoes before, trust me. It does get better. I got sober almost one year ago at age 25.

I think it's great that you are ready to launch into your inventory, but do you feel like you have a grasp on steps 1-3 yet? If today's your first day sober in almost two months maybe you had better start at step 1 again.

Best wishes

Welcome Pbody!

If you want to do this, do what ever it takes. It's so worth it and you are still so young.

One day at a time and get whatever help you need. I had some dark days early on, but reading here always picked me up and gave me strength to make it through. (I did alot of reading on here) There is light at the end of the tunnel and you can do this.
Keep trying things until you find what works for you.
One day at a time becomes weeks, then months, then years.

Life is much better once you get over putting poisons into your body.

Pbody,

Welcome to SR. I think I know how you feel.....but you stayed sober for 2 years - you can do it again. Is there any way you can do rehab? Please take care, and hold on. Never give up. If I can do this anyone can. It won't get any easier, and it never gets better. Get some help.

Hi PBODY

Welcome

I don't know much in practical terms about the 12 steps...I took myself through them too when I was still drinking but it didn't seem to change my situation much.

I suspect having someone to help you through the process might be more helpful - I didn't really know what I was doing at the time.
