Movies
I have watched the following movies over the last few days... while going through withdrawals they sort of had a powerful effect:
1. Leaving Las Vegas
2. Clean and Sober
3. Barfly
4. Prohibition Part 1-3 (Ken Burns)
I got "28 Days" and "My name is Bill W." for tomorrow. Can anyone suggest any other movies that have helped them in recovery? Anything at all not just movies about alcoholics?!

Hey jobie;
You might want to check out Permanant Midnight. Fairly hardcore H movie. The auther of the book (same title) is a TV screen writer, Alf, Moonlighting and I recently saw a credit on CSI. PM is his personal journey to hell and back. He also has a few novels to his name which when I can, I pick up. His name is Jerry Stahl. Hope you enjoy.

I do not generally like real old movies but I found this one since I got sober and I just love it. Two years before the big book was printed it won best picture (1937). It’s called “You can’t take it with you”. It has no alcoholism theme, starts very slow and is a bit corny but has great subtlety. I must have watched it 15 times. Something tells me those who regularly post in “newcomers” will like it.
