9 Months!

By the Grace of God, I made it 9 months clean last Tuesday. I am starting to feel hints of normalcy for the first time in my recovery. Thank you for everyone's support.

It's great and inspiring thing to hear! I can't just imagine I can make it that far. Congratulations! Does it really takes that time to feel normal?

could you tell the listeners how things have changed for you since you stopped using?

Congrats on 9 months! And thanks for your comment about just now feeling a little more normal. I'm at 7 months (almost) and its never taken me this long to feel better. Glad to know I'm not alone. Of course, my theory is that God is just meting out my healing slowly to keep me attracted to it. Who knows what would've happened had I popped back to "normal" at a month or two?

Anyway, congrats and best wishes for your continued sobriety!

My DOC was Adderall, Xanax, loratabs, ambient, and alcohol. Pills mess up your bodies chemistry in more ways than I ever dreamed. I literally lost my mind in recovery, and found it fitting that at 9months to start feeling normal. I didn't go to rehab, but should have. Detoxing at home was a nightmare.

I haven't been able to enjoy my recovery because I am going through divorce. I wish that I had words of wisdom for others. AA helped me out a lot and still does today.
