Looking For Ideas

Sober since May. Doing some AA meditating Buddhist reading diet exercise but sometimes still hard what do others do? I think my worste thing is social isolation, sets me up. Felt like drinking today but walked with the pup but feel weak, need my SR friends don't want to quit now. Won't give in but hard.

I don't know Fitz...When I get in a funk I go to a meeting...Something about a room full of sober alcoholics cheers me up...Get's me out of my head.

Hi Fitz,

You have been struggling for awhile. I was thinking about you yesterday. I myself have just made it to 9 months.

I think these are important milestones. I felt like crap the other day, I went to 2 meetings walked out of one, went to another got something out of it, met up with people I could relate to.
You say you feel isolated and that is probably part of the problem, living too much in your head as Sapling suggested
It seems to me you are underemployed and need to find something meaningful to do in your life. What really interests you? Find a group that share that interest, volunteer your skills.
IMHO you need something besides just being sober. Time to really enjoy that sobriety

Good for you for not picking up.

fitz, if you love dogs have you considered some kind of volunteer work like rescue assistance? where I live there are lots of opportunities in that area. don't know you well but you've mentioned your puppy. anyway, I hope you have a great weekend!

Lets hold each other up. Fitz.

I'd be interested in knowing what you're reading - the Buddhist stuff?
