Haha! Hi Anewlife... Are we following each other around? I think we're on the same sleep cycle which is pretty funny since I'm the other side of the Atlantic... you really need to get your head down!
Good luck Eh xx

Even my worst sober day is better than my best drunk day. Because no matter what else occurs during the day, I didn't drink. So I won. Every day I drank I lost a little part of myself. And I like myself a pretty good deal; don't want to lose any more of me. Just want to keep building.

I went through the cold sweats/shakiness for so many times it feels like I'm used to it. I know I'm gonna have rough days but so far I've kinda just powered through it, kept really busy at work, I'm about to head home which is the scary part of my day as I always have the temptation to stop at the liquor store after work. Ughh!! God grant me the strength

that's the

hardest part of the day for me, too. on the plus side, i feel more productive and focused--it's nice not to wake up with a cloudy head. i almost always drank at night--it's definitely a challenge to break that habit. apparently i cannot send you a private message until i have 5 post...still learning how to navigate this site.

No rush, find the threads you like, post a reply and you'll have 5 in no time. I'm there in the same boat with you, I used to drink a few beers at least before I went to sleep. Then that turned into a few beers when I wake up, a few beers for lunch, stop at the liquor store after work and drink my night away. Wake up and do it again. I make it my life goal to never return to that schedule, no matter how hard it is to sleep these past few days, I'll get used to it.

So far I've just notified all my friends who "drink" that I won't be seeing them for a while because I want to try to get away from that lifestyle, nothing against them, they all understand. My Fiance doesn't drink at all and she is the main reason I think I find this a lot easier than the other times around, she's there for support (even though she has no idea what detoxing is like), and the fact that we're trying to start a family together. I have to address my problems first though before I even think about that, can't take care of a kid if I can't take care of my self.
