First meeting
4 days sober. I attended my first meeting last night. It was a huge relief. I was very apprehensive and downright scared going in, but the second I walked in the door I felt a huge relief. Almost like "duh, this IS were I belong". Met some really interesting people and picked up a white chip. I'm actually really looking forward to going back tomorrow to the next meeting.

Congratulations! I am glad it was a positive experience.
I encourage you to hang around before and after the meetings to meet people, a sponsor perhaps.
The more people you meet and relate to and form friendships with, the more comfortable you are going to be at meetings.

Congrats on joining us on our recovery journey.
I too felt welcomed. As I continued to go in those early days and months, I started to realize that when I went to the meetings I felt SAFE. Those meetings were a very SAFE place for me.
You will meet some great folks. I too suggest that you go early and help set up and stay late and help put everything away and clean up. It is a great way to interact with a few sober folks at a time.
Love and hugs,

Hello Zecase, thanks for your post it’s just a reminder of how awesome recovery is .. I tried many different ways to get sober. I tried AA with an open mind this time, and the last 15 months have been the best of my life. I know AA is not for everyone but it saved my life. and like you say this IS were I belong. Thanks
