OT I was accepted in a double masters degree program :)

..but I was not given the scholarship (was put on the reserve list)
They give like 6 of such scholarships per year, so at least I can feel good I was even considered.
Now I only have to come up with 16000 euros
My sister told me to do everything I can to take advantage of this opportunity. I am hesitant. She might lend me some money but I am not sure it will be enough with that and my savings.
There are other scholarships I might look into. I know some people were able to go with one scholarship unfortunately I need a financial backup (real estate) and my mom has not bought anything yet and I rent, so I got nothing to back me up. I am a bit resentful for this although I know it is not her responsibility. Another option would be to try again next year, perhaps she owns something then.
Anyway just sharing this bit of news, please send good vibes so someone else gets a better opportunity and decides not to take this scholarship, and they give it to me

(((TC))) - How awesome for you!
FWIW, I new..without a single doubt, that I couldn't get through my little Associate's degree program, but I looked into financial aid (it's probably different where you are) but I'll be able to complete.
Have faith..check into stuff and go for that dream!
Love, hugs, and prayers,
Amy

Bummer about the scholarship situation....but this:
This is awesome!! Could be worse...You could have the money handy but not be accepted as a candidate for the program.
Hope the scholarship comes through.

The scholarship situation is a bummer... but congratulations on being accepted to the program. I hope you are able to find a finances solution that works for you so that you can do it if you want to. And if you don't, having been accepted is still amazing. Is there a way to defer your enrollment a year to save up more $ or re-apply for the scholarship?
Thanks dear SR friends for your support!
Some replies:
Impurrfect your degree is not little, I would never be able to do your work, you save lives for Godīs sakes.
soberlicious thanks so much for your perspective, it was uplifting, in fact one ex I had had all the money in the world but didnīt pass the GMAT! lol
anvilhead thanks, in fact by posting off topic threads here about work I realize I have been frustrated for a long time so this was a morale boost where someone else tells me "you DO have a brain" and not the endless criticizing at work.
OK OK its codie to look for outside assurance, I know...
So today they tell me my placing in reserve list is between 20-30 LOL so the chances are not good
BUT I will try and see other funding options for me, "coincidentally" I got the following news yesterday:
-I have been pre- approved for a bank loan that is a considerable sum. Not optimal I know but a possibility
-My sister tells me she might be able to lend me some $
-HR at my job tells me they *MIGHT* approve for me to keep my job and keep working remotely, which would be a drag but would ease my mind as I will still have some income to rely on.
I am very excited
Although I am sad about the possibility of leaving my dear cats

Such exciting news, TC! I know that in the public libraries here, there is a HUGE list of scholarships, grants, loan programs that are available. It's quite a bit of work to dig through, much less apply, but it'd be so worth it. My brother and sister both reminded me to apply for scholarships and grants that I think I may be right on the edge of the requirements, as well as where I have the requirements met hands-down. Because, you never know...
