Dang the Irony

A drunk smashed into my truck today. I might have done that a dozen times but it was reversed. I feel bad for him.

Fitz, I'm sorry. That sucks. But at least he hit someone who understands. Glad you weren't hurt? Another reminder why were all here.

(((Fitz))) - sorry about your truck

When I read about a drunk having an accident, I have mixed emotions. I have empathy...it could have been me a lot of times. However, I also feel anger, especially if someone else was injured or killed.

I'll never forget a guy I had to draw "legal blood alcohol" blood test for the cops. The guy kept saying "but I was in the white lines!!" and the cops told him "yes you were, but you were going south in the northbound lanes". His BAC was over 300 but didn't even ACT drunk!

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

despite, or perhaps because of having been in that situation myself, i have NO SYMPATHY for drunk drivers. they cause too much death and destruction. that guy is 'lucky' you weren't hurt or killed.

I agree but I had a DUI and drunk driving many times. I just am working on health and being a better person. Lucky I have a Toyota Tacoma and I do feel for the guy, drunk tanks are not good but maybe he can get help. I'd be dead if I did]nt do maybe a dent in the truck can be a blessing in the end. Sober since May

On one hand I can have empathy, OTOH he's a big boy and responsible for his actions!

Yeah, it's good you are okay. I can feel empathy for him--I can't tell you how many times I have checked the car over the next morning, hoping not to find any damage or evidence of an accident.

Amazing.
