Can I Still Go to a Meeting?

Tonight was supposed to be my big night, talked to a lady on the phone last night I met at a meeting and am supposed to meet her there tonight, she is going to introduce me to a lady who is willing to take on a sponsee.

I am self-defeating. Got my hands on some wine this afternoon and drank a glass and a half before I stopped myself.

I really want to be done with this.

Is it okay to still go to the meeting, or should I put it off for tonight?

I don't want to offend anyone there by having drank today.

I do, but I don't have to leave for another hour. Thinking I should be okay by then.

Go for it...I'd be honest about it...Tell em you had a glass because you were frightened...And you want it to be your last.

Agree with Sapling...It's AA, they will understand. I know with myself if I put things off there's no telling when I'll get around to them. Relax.

You drank because you have untreated alcoholism and require the new solution---in AA it's the steps!

Enjoy!

Many have entered the rooms of AA while under the influence for their first meeting... many are still in the rooms of AA sober & recovering.

Please take alternate transit if you have had anything to drink.

Take care & have a great meeting.

They'll be very glad to see you come in tonight, and you may be surprised at how well they understand your taking that drink today.

Go to the meeting. I guarantee you that you are not the first person to go to AA with some alcohol in your system.

Absolutely. I stayed and talked with my sponsor for an hour after the meeting ended. It felt like a huge weight had been lifted from me...I don't cry easily, but I did last night (the happy kind of cry.)

OMG how many meetings did I go to when I was drinking... it honestly took me over a year to get to the point... it was a year into it that I discovered that the STEPS were the answers...

Not the people
Not the meetings
Not me reading the book...

It was the work that went into the steps... FINALLY got it 77 days ago.
