Hello
After lurking in the shadows of SR for quite sometime now, I am finally stepping forward to say "hello" and most humbly ask for your help. Asking for help, by the way, has never been my strong suit. It somehow gives me comfort to know that in what I feel like may be my weakest point stepping forward requires a least some amount of strength. What you are doing with this site is remarkable!
Not an everyday drinker but most certainly have a problem and have for several years. My story is not unique. Just ready to make changes.

This place got me through a weekend where I think I would have othwrwise gone for the bottle of wine in anger against my husband. I just read, and read and waited it out.
Stick around and read and talk. It is very safe here. Everyone is so supportive. It is still February, so check out the February group. I find everyone so welcoming and helpful, and we are all early into it.

Welcome ! I am new also and find SR an amazing place not only to share but to hear and feel what so many others are going through. The people on here have affected my life so deeply , and I feel better knowing that I have TONS of people behind me and that are pulling for me !

A tremendous THANK YOU to you all! For some reason, even though I openly discuss my issues with family/friends, I feel something different when I read everyones stories. Suddenly, I don't feel so alone in my struggle. You are all a blessing!!

One of the beautiful things about this place is you get help without even asking for it. Help comes here from reading and just sharing what is happening with your own experience. I am the same way almost unable to ask for help with anything but after being here almost a month I realize I have been given a ton of help without having to ask and that is a great thing.
