My 1st AA Meeting
My 1st AA Meeting
12 days sober. Ive been wanting to go to a meeting for awhile, for a couple reasons/excuses it wasnt until tonight that I got to my 1st one. It was an Open/Beginners meeting with about 50 ppl attending.
Met some good people, and made plans to meet up with some of them at another meeting tomorrow night. I introduced myself to group, but did not speak. I plan to at the next one. I felt a little like the new kid in class as I was the only 1st timer there, but they made me feel welcome and glad I went.
Anyways, just wanted to share that. Gotta go for my walk, will be back on later.
Thx to those suggesting meetings (Sugarbear esp.), I can already tell it will help me greatly.

Yes...it is amazing to know you don't have to do this alone. And 12 days is a great accomplishment. If it wasn't for AA I would have lost my mind. Actually, I am sure I did lose my mind, but sometimes we get what we want quickly, sometimes slowly.
Do go back. Ask for a temporary sponsor. Go for coffee afterwards. It's amazing what support can do for us all.
