New Books to recommend
Hello all, back from another visit from my therapist and she has a couple of books for me to read and I wanted to share the titles with you.
Recovery: A Guide for Adult Children of Alcoholics 188 pages, paperback, 4-1/2stars on Amazon $10.28 USD. My therapist says this is basically a condesnsed version of ACOA's "The Big Red Book" and a much easier read.
She also recommended, (especially for family members) Addictive Thinking by Abraham Twerski, 288 pages, hardcover, 4-1/2 stars on Amazon $11.82 USD
I also took the advice of so many here and added Codependent No More, which gave me enough for the free shipping.

Thank you Keyn,
I love that book , there is some really great info in there but man is it a snoozer, I don't care how rested and refreshed I am, ten pages and I am out.
Have a great day,
Big hugs,
Bill

All,
I just wanted to give you all an update on the book my therapist recommended:
Recovery: A Guide for Adult Children of Alcoholics by Gravitz and Bowden
This book is a list of 72 typical questions we as ACOAs would ask a therapist and in most cases I would guess have asked ourselves, the answers are simple and concise.
Of the 144 pages only 107 revolve around the 72 questions and answers, the balace is foreward, autors notes, references etc.
it is a quick and easy read, and in my opinion would be a great book to hand to a spouse or any other person that you would want to give a crash course on ACOA's.
Best $11.00 I have spent in a long time.
Bill
