day 2 and going strong...

I'm on day 2 (although it feels like day 3 because I stopped drinking Sunday morning). I feel pretty good - a little lazy, not really getting much done, but I feel alright.

The only thing bothering me is my eyes - they've been red and burning all day. I'm sure this is because of not drinking, though I can't figure out why - anyone else experience this?

Anyways, I'm pretty upbeat today. I'm grateful for the warm welcome from you all, and I hope to have many more sober days from now on

First few days might be a very big challenge. Be strong and you will get better.

Have you changed your face cream lately?

A few weeks ago I had 5 days sober... that detox was pretty bad, I'm thinking maybe this time I won't detox as bad since I just went through it. And no, embarassingly enough - I've been drunk just about every night for so long, I had given up any hope of a facial routine (I never wash or moisturize before bed, just pass out). That's so gross and embarassing. But that will all change this week!

I used to drink each and every evening for at least a year. I stopped because the only way was going deeper in that pond.

I have ordered a box full of face washes, creams and moisturizers. I want to be a girly girl again.

Nothing to be embarassed about, I don't know many alcoholics that had a nightly ritual of maintaining their beauty! My ritual was drink till I fell over, I don't think I changed my underpants for days on end. Classy, I know. Good job on day 2!

When I was drinking, I neglected my daily hygeine too. I would go weeks without shaving or a trip to the barber. There's pictures of me where I'm unrecognizable and I look like a lumberjack haha. It feels good not to be mistaken as a homeless person now!
