Fatigue

I am just shy of 3 weeks of continuous sobriety. For the first time in a long time, I feel tired. That sleepy, yawning kind of tired. I am also having lots of random thoughts and/or memories doing acrobatics in my head. Have you all experienced this? Luckily I do not have mega nightmares and have started sleeping (again, for the first time in a long time) so I was hoping to be more energized than present. I don't do too much caffeine, nor do I drink soda or eat alot of sweets. Hmmm....sounds like I really need to quit griping and count my blessings! Thanks, gang!!

Getting and staying sober is an amazing journey and all sorts of changes happen. Stick with it, go with the flow and enjoy it for what it is. Having said that rough patches are to be expected.

Recovery takes time and certainly has its ups and downs, listen to your body and give it some extra rest if you feel the need. Have patience, take care of yourself and eventually things will even out. Awesome job on the 3 weeks!

Sounds completely normal to me NBC - like others have said - most of us really do a number on our minds and bodies when we drink the way we did - it can take a little time to get things right again

stick with it

Lots of good advice here.

I think that listening to your body is the best thing to do, and hopefully your energy level will pick up soon.

I'm having the same problem at the moment. I've just started meditating which I find helpful but it takes a bit of practice.

Hang in there, you're doing great and you'll feel more energised soon.
