Slipped
Slipped
I made it almost 12 days. I felt better than I have in a long time. I relapsed Saturday evening. The cravings were so bad, the worst I have ever had.
I'm now back on day 2. Upset with myself, naturally. But I've also tried to take the advice I have given others who have relapsed. Learn from it. So I've been trying to look at what happened objectively and it scares me. Willpower is just not enough. I'm not comfortable with AA, but I have to do something more than what I am doing now. It's hard to post this, but I have to get honest to get healthy. Thanks for reading.:rotfxko

Hey Dazee, glad you're back with us. I'm sorry to hear that you drank on Saturday. It would probably help to have a plan in place to cope with your cravings the next time they come. Dee has some good info on urge surfing that helped me a lot. That in combination with delaying my first drink for a day, or even just an hour when it was really hard has helped me get through some really tough times.

hi, sorry to hear you've had a bad time. If you are not comfortable with AA maybe one of the secular approaches may help. i've just read Rational Recovery which talks about AVRT. I found it very helpful. Different things worth for different people but for the price of a book off Amazon its worth a try. Good luck.
Welcome back Dazee
