I failed, Sorry My Friends
As a touring musician , without family support and really nothing else
i lapsed back into drinking,
but managed to be sober for months because of this forum
i wrote this song for you all
don't be a hero and try to look me up, i dont need supportive words, i just hope your recovery goes better than mine.
Lyrics:
familiar demons,
they follow me
interrupting reason
with uncertainty
cry out to you all
to get into me
you'll be disappointed
with what i ceased to be
pour out your poison
and go where you're supposed to be
in loving arms of
friends and family
ignore all the pain that it has
brought to you,
and listen to a pattern
that is now in view
take it our leave it
run from home..
you're left with vices
all alone..
out of excuses
and on the phone
this call just may be your last one
losing faith in myself
losing hope ,
everyone who loses hope has something to gain
________
see you all on tour, betcha i dont remember

don't give up - this isn't the end of the battle - it's just one episode.
I tried for 15 years before I got it right.
Maybe instead of an outright failure, it's best to look at this as a sign you need to regroup and rethink your strategy?
Think about what you might need to add, or what you might need to change.
You can do this

invisbledrunk - must be so hard for you with what you do for a living and without any family support but you say you were sober for months?? That is awesome. I am impressed. Please, please keep trying?

I agree with Dee invisible, don't give up...this can be just a tiny setback for you (if you let it). I have no support where I am living but therapy and SR and my supportive friends in different states support me by phone. I know it's tough, I have "failed" too but if you never quit trying, you can get what you really want--sobriety. Hang in there and keep posting.
It is never too late to start again. I myself have had plenty of "Day 1's". Read the quote at the bottom of my signature ... then dust yourself off and try again. Every day holds the promise of a sober life.
Thanks
[QUOTE=Djelen;3263008]I like your post and will try to remember this if I stray ....only on Day 4 and my first serious attempt to give up but that is sound advice!
Hey Djelen, I am only on day 5 this time round, but this time round I am going to win
