I was talking to a friend I had really hurt through my addiction and it was like a root canal that saved a tooth. Like a blessing and a curse. Hard to be honest after so many years of lying. She forgave me but that kind of hurt to, like I didn't deserve it. Can't explain it but plenty of work to do. Moment by moment. Peace and love and sobriety to all. Totally get it, Fitz. But you ARE deserving of forgiveness. That's the beautiful thing about making amends. You realize what you've done to hurt someone, and you make it right. Forgiveness is freeing for both you and the person you've hurt. You did the right thing. I'm sure the friend who forgave you feels a huge burden lifted off of her. That is something simple and yet so HUGE for both of you. She needed to hear what you said, and you needed her forgiveness. Both sides win.

Thanks, it will it is, it's just hard to adjust to honesty as well as sobriety. They have always gone hand in hand with me.
