About week ago, I posted of being nervous about going to detox. Amazingly, after a long and prolific daily career, my withdrawal went very smoothly. I was actually released a couple of days earlier than those who went in on the same day. I was also shocked that my liver function was only slightly above normal, and should return to normal very quickly with abstinence. So, now it's day 4 and I'm heading out to a beginner AA meeting which is only about 20 minutes from my house. Thanks to all for the words of encouragement last week and off to my first "destination" AA meeting ( they did bring a few meetings to us in detox). Let's see how it goes! Best wishes to all!
