Just finished a week!
Just finished a week!
One week down and I'm starting to feel better day by day. Have been working, exercising, taking care of things around my apartment, and otherwise staying busy. Haven't even been tempted by booze. After my last relapse, I know I never want to feel how I felt ever again. Stay positive, everyone. Especially those of you like me who are just beginning your journey (for the first time of the 50th). Here's to a sober, productive weekend!

I've just made it a week too. I feel great. I don't think I've spent an entire day sober (and not because I was hungover) in years.
My memory feels like it's coming back and I don't have blocks of my evening that I don't recall. I take more pleasure in the simpler things and time passes at an acceptable rate. I have my mornings back and my wife has been happy.

Congratulations Taws.
For me the first week is always the hardest, then the second week is the second hardest, and then the third is the third hardest, etc, etc, etc.
Point is it does get easier as time goes by.
You are doing great.

Taws, Congratulations on 1 week, it's a great achievement - I'd be lying if I said it gets easier from now on - there's still a lot to get through, but it does get better every day.
I read a post on here about how we should all try and enjoy the journey of recovery. That really struck a chord with me. I'm also on day 27 (well done Isabella ^) and really looking forward to the next 27 days, months, years...
