Yeah, it goes that way for us sooner or later. Is this enough proof, or do you need further experimenting to confirm that it will always eventually go that way for you?
It's a difficult point to learn.
If it was easy there'd be hardly any newcomer posts for new people to ignore before trying it themselves and being very surprised that it was also true for them even though they didn't want it to be.
Good you're back without serious damage done and perhaps a lesson learned.
