Feeling down the last couple of days

I posted a week or so ago that my joy was coming back, well now it's gone again. Up, down, up, down. Can't wait for this to end!!

Thanks for being here all.

God bless.

It is quite a journey! Hang in there...It seems as though it gets better with time as you confront the lows and enjoy the highs. Smile and be happy.

I think everyone has good days and bad days tho, Jocata - my friend Ann says the difference between a bad day and a good one is about 2 days

Jocata, I'm sorry you're in a slump. That happened to me, too - mostly the first few months. I've gone through many phases on my journey. I started out being very resentful, even though I knew drinking could never be an option again. I'd remember only the good times for awhile. I was very sorry for myself during that phase. Thankfully, it was short-lived & I began to enjoy participating in life fully, not in a fog.

Don't be discouraged. This is a normal part of what we go through as our bodies and minds adjust to the 'new us'. You seem to have a good sense of humor and alot of wisdom judging from your posts. These things will see you through. It gets better and easier - we promise.

I can totally relate to you, jocata. The other morning I woke up with a huge grin on my face and was practically bouncing off the walls with joy all day. Today I feel just plain BLAH! It helps to realize that it's normal, and it is certainly better than spending the day and night drunk.

If things are bad, they will pass. If things are good, they will pass too. The only thing that matters is that we get through them sober. Hang on for the ride!

I have up and down days and weeks all the time. I'm pretty sure it's just life happening. I'm still working on not feeling so down when things aren't going well, and then also not feeling like the king of the world during the good times. Hang in there. It will get better!

Jocata,

I think the journey of recovery is always up and down. Some of the lessons we need to learn in order to grow, are hard. But, things will always improve as long as you stay sober.

For me the difference between a good and bad day is hour by hour. Does that make sense? LOL I know how you feel!

Makes alot of sense undone.

Thanks for the support guys and gals. You all feel like part of my family.

I know it's part of the process and it will pass.

I can say that today was a successful day because I didn't drink or use.

God bless.

Hi Jocata

I'm beginning to understand that some days you will feel terrible. Yesterday I was so angry and in tears, really down. But today I've woken up feeling much better. the problem is still there but I will deal with it, it doesn't seem as bad after a sleep and the best thing is I'm sober and feel so much more able to face it. Yeah!!!

I think people who've never had a drink have good and bad days too.
