Therapy?
Has anyone found that individual therapy has interfered with step work? It was suggested that when I work the steps I do so without therapy or prescribed medication because they could interfere. Not sure about this one.
As sugarbear said, Nonsense.
Any individual, in AA or otherwise, should never tell another person what medications they should take unless they are a medical doctor. It's plain irresponsibility.
No where in the program of AA does it say not to take prescribed medications not does it say not to go to therapy.

If anyone in AA ever told me that Id stay clear from the group. I was recently put on an antidepressant bc I was using alcohol to self medicate. My psychiatrist has recomended therapy and group therapy and he knows all well with my alcohol problem. Never let anyone tell you otherwise. .
I can't speak to your specific situation, Inca. That is a matter for you, your doctor, and your therapist.
But FWIW, I am taking antidepressants as prescribed, and I'm in weekly therapy as well. These things, I feel, are helpful.
By all means, embrace the 12 steps for everything they can give you. Just be mindful that there may be other tools in your toolbox as well.
