I am learning the power of humility :)
Good morning all, yet another beautiful sober start to the day.
When I was drinking, I was full of pride and selfishness. I believed I could handle My own affairs, even though I was making a compete and total mess of my life. I was very stubborn and didnt like to take any advice. I resented being told what to do. To me humility look like a weakness. But since I found AA or it found me which ever, I began to be humbled. I am learning that humility is giving my the power I need to overcome drinking.
Today I pray and meditate that I may learn the principales of the good life. I pray that I may meditate upon them and work at them, because the are truly enternal.
As I am growing spiritually and mentally this is one of the big keys to MY happiness.
"My friend had emphasized the absolut necessity of demonstrating these principles in all my affairs. Particularly was imperative to work with others as he had worked with me. Faith with works was dead, he said. And how appalling true for the alcoholic!!!!! For if an alcoholic failed to perfect and enlarge his or her spiritual life through work and self-sacrifice for others, he could not survive the certain trails and low spots ahead . If he did not work , he would surely drink again, and if he drank he would surely die. Then faith would be dead indeed. With us its just like that. " Bill W.

So for the second half of the day
Got home from shopping and now off to the store to pick up the goodies for tonights meeting. Cant stop thinking about looking in those elephants eyes yesterday, truly spiritual.
Well sun has been out its like spring here , crazy for Jan 10th.
