Itchy and Cant sleep

Hello,

I am new to this site. I haven't drank in 13 days and am still not sleeping well. Also, I started itching. I have read this can be common?

Has anybody else had this issue? Do you know the cause of the itching?

Thank you!

Hello Josiegirl and welcome to this forum! Congratulations on your 13 days of sober time! I also get itching and I am on day 39. Mostly at night time. It really sucks! I think the most probable cause is due to a reaction of your nervous system being deprived of the chemicals you gave it for such a long time. I also remember a similar itch when I abused opiates. Just hang in there and I am sure they will slowly go away. At least in my case they have gotten better. You should also talk to your doctor and see if he will prescribed/recommended some vitamin supplement to help your nervous system recover quicker. I wish you a prompt and great recovery!

Good for you for having 13 sober days.

Do talk to your dr if your symptom continues.

Welcome Josie - you'll find a lot of support here

I agree with Anna though - if this is troubling you, it's probably best to get professional advice

Check it out:

I think your questions will be answered. IF not, time to see the doctor.

Love nd hugs,
