Ouch!!
Ouch!!
So there I was this morning working out doing shoulder presses and I felt something pop under my shoulder blade and had instant nerve pain. Now I can't move my head without pain. I've been doing light weights, warming up and stretching, but it happened anyway.
I have herniated a disc in my lower back twice in work related injuries and had sugery both times. In both cases I would turn to the narcotics to ease the pain, and honestly to enjoy the buzz. Not this time. I don't even want to go close to that. Aleve and a tens unit for me for a few days and then see how it feels.
Thank you guys for being here. It's a miracle that I don't want to turn to the pain pills again. I want to stay off that road straight to hell.
God bless each and every one of you.

Sounds like you have pulled one of your rhomboid muscles.
I have done the same in the past with shoulder presses as well lateral raises. Recovery for this muscle group is painfully slow.
Get a tennis ball and have your significant other work that spot hard by rolling the tennis ball over the painful area. If by yourself you can do the same by using the tennis ball and back against a wall.
Give it a week or so then start light again. If any pain stop and wait another week.
Good on ya for not using the narcotics!

Just to be on the safe side, please go get it checked out with an MRI and an X-ray, just to be sure it is what you think it is.
Then get some 'specific' physical therapy recommendations.
Tens units are great!! But they do not 'fix' everything.
I have ongoing deteriorating disks in my back from osteoarthritis and I have an EXCELLENT PAIN DOCTOR that emphatically states that 'narcotic pain killers DO NOT and WILL NOT work on chronic back pain.' I have a tens unit for it and a mild, very mild muscle relaxer for when I get a spasm that wants to turn into a golf ball.
However, I now get an epidural that last 6 to 8 months and IT IS WONDERFUL.
So please, do not 'SELF DIAGNOSE' go to the doctor!!!!!

Thanks for the responses everyone. If it doesn't start to feel better in a few days, I will get to the doc. It's not nearly as painful as a herniated disc. Hopefully it's just a pinched nerve or pulled muscle.
God bless.
God bless.
