Hi im new!
Hi! I guess ill start hereI am 25 and been drinking through depression for a couple years now. I have 12 days sober so I am feeling good about that! Im so relieved I found this website too! I will tell my counselor about this
Congtats! New Years is a major hurtle. It's all the ammunition you need. If you can get through this night, you can get through any night. This is my second new years eve sober. Quit in August 2010. I know that seems long ago. But it's not all that far back for me. Sober and free and loving life
Welcome, Candi. You will find a wonderful group of people here, some struggling with sobriety and others who are secure in theirs. All of us have wrestled with our demons, we have that in common.
Here are some ideas that can help, from a journal called 30 Sleeps.
Take advantage of every resource you can find, and keep posting here. We are all pulling for you.

Hi, I am new too - though I am on one day sober! Christmas and New Year have been my massive downfall, and also wake up call. I think it's great you've got them if you've only just quit, I don't think I could have made this decision a couple of weeks ago.

New Here Too
I quit alcohol 10 years ago and I like to think I'm a young
man. What I didn't realize was that booze was just a symptom.
Find your real pain.
By the way I'm strung out on oxys and benzos now so I guess I didn't find mine. By the way, I'm on day 4 cold turkey and I'm miserable.
My AA sponsor says we don't drink because we like to drink, we do it because we need to run away from fears. I think the Big Book is the way to go.
Anyway congrats on your decision, now build your support structure. And if you figure our how to work this site let me know!!!!!!
