So i started to go get a drink..

...and then sanity stopped me. What else do I say? I've made it today. Oh I lost my best friend tonight, and that wasn't a good enough excuse, damn it.

Thanks Dee. And for all my brother and sister drunks, tomorrow is always better even tonight. It's so much better to be sad sober than to be numb!!

Something good is happening here. What kind of alcoholic wants a drink, starts to get one, and stops? I never did that when I was drinking. I never turned down a drink. I'm sorry to hear you're going through a hard time. I am so happy to hear you deal with it soberly, and to express what a gift it is to experience these hard feelings soberly. The truth is, that sadness isn't only still present when we drink, its 1,000 times worse. Good for you for investing in your sobriety. I hope that everything works out for the best. In fact, if you stay sober, I know it will.

I'm so sorry for your loss Fitz. I don't know the situation, but I know that anyone who cares about you would not want to see you lost in numbness again. You honored their memory by staying true to yourself.

Oh Coolfitz you did it! The old clique that nothing is so bad that a drink won't make it worse is true. Please know that I am thinking of you. I am not sure the situation, but we MINERs are always here for you. Your post was a help to me, as I am feeling pretty sorry for myself today. Poor me, my life is boring.
