First day of sobriety
Hi everyone. Today is my first day of sobriety. I have had over 4 years of sobriety in the past (up until a couple of years ago) and I am ready to be sober again....Permanently. I have been struggling with this for a while now and, after getting so loaded last night and feeling embarrassed and humiliated, not remembering a lot of what I said and did, I have decided that this is it. Yesterday will be the last time. I am so grateful for this forum because I think that I may need the support this time around. It's good to be here.

Welcome to SR! Since you have been down this road before I hope that you do get to work ASAP! Are you going to detox alone or with the help of your Doc? Once you have that then what are you planning to do as a recovery plan would be a logical next step no?
You came to the right place, they helped me immensely along with my docs, in hospital detox, and 3 months of AA and counseling.

Hello Ready! I had 3 yrs. once & then started up again for 7 yrs. of hell. I needed the support of SR this last time - never had reached out for help before. It made all the difference. Remember, you're never alone - you have us.
