Hey there y'all.
Just wanted to say hi. I have been lurking here for about a month now and decided to join. I have always been a binge drinker. I come from a long line of boozers on both sides of the family.
I have of late started dating a woman who also drinks excessively and we talk about it alot. We have actually had some really great times with each other just being sober, only to not see each other the next night so we each can drink our fill in the privacy of our own homes. I believe she was put in my path for a reason. We have not had a binge together yet, if you will. I don't want to and neither does she.
Anyway just wanted to say thanks that a site like this exists.
May all of you have safe and as sober as you can be holidays.
God Bless and Good Luck.

Welcome to SR! It's a wonderful place for support no matter what stage of recovery you are in. Remember in contimplating sobriety, much like dieting, sometimes the biggest lie we tell ourselves is "I'll start tomorrow." We're here for ya.
Welcome Easttexas, from Austin!

If you are unsure and cannot make the decision to either keep drinking or quit drinking, you're going to keep testing the waters of alcoholism. There is no "good" time to quit, the alcohol will always beg you to keep drinking and when you've listened to that voice for so many years, it's hard to make rational decisions.
I really hope you make the right decision - living life sober and happy.
