Bagging a party tonight

Last night I went out with the girls and felt great - minor cravings and didn't have an issue not drinking at all - in fact I felt great.

Tonight I was getting ready for a party about an hour ago that I was going to go to by myself and I thought humm maybe just one just a glass and I couldn't get the craving out of my mind and I started to plan the drink/drinking...

So I told my SO that my cold just got a bit worse and I just didn't feel like going and got into my sweats. She didn't push it - we don't talk about it but she knows how badly I don't want to drink anymore.

Time to pick out a movie to watch with the twins tonight.

Still a newbie - still don't trust myself.

So Clash of the Titans or The Dilemma hummm

good call Tigg...well done!

It's great that you can see the warning signs ahead of time which gives you the chance to not put yourself in a situation where you might weaken under pressure & give in to temptation. Excellent job!

good job tigger. I think that those are the choices that help with long term sobriety. Fridays are tough for me. I don't take any form of currency to work with me on that day, so I won't be tempted to stop at "the Store" on the way home. Seems silly that I have to do that, but i have to keep myself save. That is what you did, you kept yourself safe. Way to go.

Tigger41, more power to you. Good call for listening to your gut and taking action so that you were taking care of yourself. Could not have been easy, but you did it.

Clash of the Titans,

Good on you Tigger. As I was reading your post I was remembering getting ready to go out to parties or whatnot and having to have the right amount of drinks to get that buzz before socializing.

You made the right choice

Merry Christmas
