Good morning!

New to the forums, new to recovery.

My name's Rob and my sobriety date is June 11th, 2011. I am a member of AA, I've worked and continue to work the 12 steps with a sponsor that has worked the 12 steps.

I wanted to check in before posting away. I look forward to sharing my experience, strength and hope with everyone, regardless of the program you are working.

Welcome, Exhortera. I like that you said "a sponsor who has worked the steps". I think that's a key point in picking a sponsor.

Feel better but I still have my days. I'm 40 now and have been drinking and using, in one form or another, since my late teens. It's gonna take some time for my mind to heal from the abuse.

I got my first real crush in years on a member of the opposite sex a few days ago. I wasn't expecting that hahaha. The emotions will come.

Grateful for my sponsor and the steps to help guide me through it all.
