Two weeks down...wow. Two weeks. I had to say it again to believe it.
This is the longest span of sobriety I have had in over 5 years. So far my body has changed already to the tune of 5 lbs lost. I was a blackout drinker that mysteriously found my way to the fridge and pantry whilst in the middle of a blackout. The next morning I would have to clean up crumbs, plates, bowls, milk, beer, liquor and/or you name it sporting a severe hangover.
Nevertheless, my mind still lingers with thoughts of drinking. Last night I went to a Ballet with my wife and they sold beer, wine, and liquor everywhere. Normally I would be first in line to grab a quick shot and a beer, only then to sneak to the bar when she was in the bathroom and grab more shots and beers. BUT, last night I stayed sober and acutally liked it. Even though the smell of wine from the woman in the seat next to me was almost too much to handle, I overcame. I thought to myself; you deserve more and your wife deserves much better.
I want to thank all of you amazing people for being here and being supportive to not only me but to all others who visit here. It is and always will be a place I come for inspiration and help. Thanks!
