50 Days

Day 50 since I drank for the final time.

1. Got out of bed without a hangover
2. Started building a go kart for one of my kids Christmas presents
3. Took my daughter to the stables for a horseriding lesson
4. Went shopping for some lunch and milk as we had run out
5. Came back home and finished the go kart
6. Dealt with my Mom's taxes
7. Dealt with some property taxes (ugh)
8. Went out to get gas so I have some for the school run tomorrow

These eight things would have been unachievable 50 days ago. I'd have sat home sweating with an aching head, a swollen liver, red bleary eyes and feeling lower than a dung beetle on the evolutionary scale.

Every day gets better without alcohol.

I think even my kids (certainly the teenage ones) have noticed I don't have a glass in my hand every night after 7pm. This is very good and I want them to see now before its too late that they do not have to be a sequel.

Life is not perfect, but simple things make it good.

Ahhh, great post to read first thing in the morning! Thanks for putting a smile on my face, and congratulations to you for 50 days.....and it keeps getting better!

Congrats on 50 days! Don't underestimate your children! Have you sat and talked to them about their observations? I bet you'll be surprised with what you hear them say!

Awesome for you tiger, two things I love about your post, every day gets better without alcohol, this is my mantra. You are also now the parental role model you should be, carry on....
