Past still biting me in the Butt!

I have made 7 days! (first time in years) It seems that it becomes harder to stay sober when you constantly are reminded of all the mistakes you have made. It you really makes me feel, why bother! I will make it thru today, but tomorrow will be hard! Thanks for listening!

Yeah, that can make things difficult, especially if you live with someone who constantly throws that stuff in your face. The thing is, we did cause a lot of chaos and damage with our drinking. Sometimes we have to just suck it up and deal. The longer you go without drinking, the more people will begin to believe that you are serious. If you give in and drink, they'll continue to think you aren't serious about living a sober life. Prove them wrong.

So true, suki.

Voice - I fell back into drinking many times because of that very thing. Do not let it happen - you're working so hard to make a better life for yourself. One day, all the bad things will be a distant memory - that's a promise. Congrats on your seven days!!

Don't give in now. It gets better the longer you're sober, but you have to stay sober. Don't take as long as I did to 'get it'. I wish now I'd quit sooner...

@VoiceinmyHead - I lost my job when I was 27 days sober because of a decision I made 9 years. I had one bad afternoon and by that night I sent off an email to go back to school and starting to search for jobs. Now I'm going back to school and my new job starts Monday.

Even though it really hurt to lose that job, I faced it sober and head-on and that made me feel really proud. If I would of been drinking I would be depressed, broke, and drinking extremely heavy. .

Look forward, not backwards.
