Hubby Left Tonight

Been on here a few days now.....got to the point of being tired of being respected. I did everything to try and fix the situation but have decided to change myself. I am doing what I want and not catering to his behavior. He wants so much contol and I am putting a stop and controlling my own life and taking charge. A friend of mine invited me to go shopping out of town tomorrow and he is so furious he left....it's a friend he doesn't like. He doesn't like anyone...He left and said don't contact me and I am not going to!! First step forward to not engaging. I am gonna stop trying to control him!! I am powerless over him and the alcohol!!

Good for you, enjoy yourself, you cannot fix him, and you cannot control his drinking, enjoy yourself this weekend.

I find repeating the serenity prayer helpful everytime my mind tries to wander back to what the alcoholic is saying or thinking during my day.

Enjoy your day!

Go enjoy yourself and count your blessings that you have this time away from him. He is upset because he can't control you and you are going to have fun and he is going to have to look in the mirror and be him..poor thang Lol.
Hugs!

I know people suggest this all time so that it seems rote, but seriously, while you're shopping pick up a copy of "Codependent No More". It will help your mind and heart more than you can imagine right now. When I finally got around to reading it, it was like an owner's manual for my head. I was astonished, even a little shaken, and learned so much. I hope if you read it it helps you as much as it did me.
