-- Two Months and Counting --
I had my last drink September 29th 2011. I can't believe I'm still sober sitting here tonight. I feel quite a bit better so I thought I would try to share the specifics. I notice now that I no longer feel hopeless like I frequently did in the months leading up to stopping. I also notice I have quite a bit more energy and have a much greater ability to have self-discipline. I find it's much easier to be patient and not snap at people when I get irritated. It's also much easier to remember things short and long term. These are just a few of the things that make my life better now that I no longer drink. I thought if maybe some of you can focus on the upside maybe it will make it more appealing to stay sober...
I think next month I'll publish my personal list of reasons that I quit. I've been jotting them down as they come to mind and let me tell you there were a lot of them :-)

Wyldwest,
Awesome and welcome to the boards!! Isn't it wonderful to think back where you were and where you are now? I got clean and sober 11 months ago and a song came on the radio the other night that was popular when I was at my worst last fall and it gave me joy to see how far I have come.
keep on posting!!

Congrats Wyldwest and thanks for the encouraging post! I have been writing down my reasons of quitting the same way and they have been adding up pretty quick! It will be cool to see when you post yours.
