Without going into detail (because it is too personal and too painful) there is a family situation occurring right now regarding alcohol use/abuse that is very troubling on many levels . . .

I am the type of person who believes people, so I am just becoming aware of the ways I have been lied to and manipulated . . .

The family has been very splintered by one of the alcoholics - she told me yesterday not to talk to another family member about the current problems - the reason I brought this up is that I am trying to sort through "the secrets" and get everyone on the same page (we have all been alienated and isolated from a lot of what has been going on . . .so there is a lot to fill in).

We are currently trying to figure out how to provide support without enabling (it's a very serious problem a young person has gotten themselves into) . . . the person is being negatively trained by one of the alcoholics and he might be alcoholic himself . . .

The wrath of the alcoholic is amazing . . . the person is very selfish and is not in "reality" about this situation, yet she is directing the outcome in terms of giving advice about what to do, etc. And it is all twisted and just wrong.

Anyway, I slept a few hours last night, just trying to absorb all that I had learned yesterday about this situation - it is just mind boggling. I turned to prayer to help me sleep and it did help. But if anyone here can send more prayers for the strength of my family, I would appreciate it.

Monday night and a "situation" is brewing. Got a phone call from a relative that another relative asked to be picked up and if they could spend the night.
