Day 21. Sleep, remember that?

Deep sleep. Haven't had it in a long time. Nice to have it again.

Holidays - such a habit to drive to the liquor store to pick up the T-giving stash, right after dropping off packages at the Post Office. Not terribly hard not to, but "habit" is up there with "craving" as enemy #1. Must be vigilant.

Also, slowly getting in touch with issues covered up by drinking before. Like I'm naturally tired and a little cranky at the end of the day - I need my sleep.

I was pretty cranky at first too.

Well done on 3 weeks!

I'm starting to sleep better as well. Now I gotta learn to slow down on the CranApple juice in the evening...bladder is on overload during the night.

Shamus, sleep is one of the best benefits of sobriety.

I don't miss that "pass out" so called sleeping I did for years - and that dreaded feeling I had when I awoke from it, with the instant feeling of doom...which sets you up just perfectly for the drinking cycle of hell.

Now I wake up in the morning rested, fresh and not INSANE It takes some time for the body to adjust...I mean look what we put ourselves through?

Keep at is Shamus - and congratulations on 3 weeks!

The stress(?) over Thanksgiving had me awake from weds. morning until I pretty much collapsed on my bed sometime on Fri. My insomnia is a killer when it comes to falling asleep, but most of the time I sleep solid as a rock.... must have slept 10-12 hours.
Congrats on your sober time and some good sleep, stay strong.

Day 3 here. Good sleep is what I am looking forward to. Can't remember the last time I woke up in the morning feeling rested. CranApple juice sounds good. I have been drinking ginger ale in the evenings.

I fought my naturak insomnia for years with booze, not knowing i was making it worse and worse, towards the end i just slept 3 hours if that, passing out more than sleeping.

WHO KNEW???/ i sleep soundly, have less nightmares and feel rested, not exhausted in the morning. a cup of chamomile tea helps too.
