Two years ago, I decided that I had had enough. I didn’t want to go through another Thanksgiving and Christmas drunk and hung-over. I woke up and told myself “this is it, no more” The problem is I had told myself the same thing thousands of times before and before the day was through I would be back at it, drinking like there was no tomorrow. I really don’t know why this time was different. But I do know that SR played a big role in helping me keep from drinking. It wasn’t easy (of course you know that), but it is worth the struggle. I am so much happier and healthier now. I know I haven’t posted much, but I did a lot of reading ; pulling encouragement from those who were successful. I enjoy seeing the posts from those that hit a milestone, be it one week, one month or 60 days or whatever. Here is my hope that this post will help someone else. I really thought that I was hopeless, and now I am full of hope. Take care and have a Happy and Sober Thanksgiving!

To echo everyone else. CONGRATULATIONS on 2 years. Thank you for taking the time to post. For people at the beginning of the journey, such as myself, it is great to hear about those who have eliminate alcohol from the equation and moved on to a better place.
BBR ... Thank you for sharing. I'm only on Day 10, but I got to this point the same way you did. No dramatic event ... one day I just said enough is enough.
Congratulations on 2 years. 1 year, 355 days from now I'll be making a similar post!

Very cool. What a great gift to YOU. thanks for letting others know that this is a very real way of life. We really don't need the crutch of alcohol to make life easier... congrats on you and your sobriety!
